The Wordicle’s Author’s Leak presents
Eric Johnson and his book “2-4 Cavalry Book 14: Operation Crescent Moon.”
The author discusses the story behind the story about his incredible book, Operation Crescent Moon.
From the author, Eric Johnson:
“I wrote book because I like to have my characters grounded at their “home”, which is the planet Friesland.
I have gotten good reviews of my prior books and want to continue the thread of what I want to show. That and I felt inspired to write Operation Crescent Moon showcasing my unit doing “cleanup” work on the planet Friesland and the combat that is involved as well as some other deployment work, such as acting as mercenaries per the storyline that I created for the plots to work and be reasonable and believable.
My hope is that the reader gets some entertainment and some self-reflection, as well as enjoying the stories that I present in the book.
Writing the book was a bit of a challenge. I had originally had it longer (It was with Operation Arrow) and my editor that I had hired suggested that I make the book half the size.
Given I had written a lot it made sense and therefore Operation Crescent Moon was born, and is now smaller in size and therefore less dragging on than the original plan for the book.
I also would like people who read military science fiction to really look into the book, given the genre but other people are welcome for those who like future war books.”
Eric, thank you for that great Author’s Leak. Please support Eric by reading his book!

Operation Crescent Moon
This is an incredible book that dives deep into the realm of sci-fi, and like Eric said, “I also would like people who read military science fiction to really look into the book, given the genre but other people are welcome for those who like future war books.” A must read!
