Ilona Ciller and her book “Triangles of Black: Once in a Thousand Years (Book 1).”

Who doesn’t like magical Epics with fire-breathing dragons, espionage, and magic? See what the author has to say (free preview of her book at the end of this article)!

From the author, Ilona Ciller:

“Instructions: How to read this book—without expectations of how much reality and fantasy should be in it, because that is how you will get the most out of it.

I would highly recommend Triangles of Black to anyone who likes Epics, fire-breathing dragons and espionage. This is a deeper read with complex characters, good laughs and some vivid magic. You will escape to another world and only hope to find your way back.

Behind truths hide lies and behind lies hide truth—this story is a piece of Australia and our dark underworld, and it echoes a global phenomenon. Several characters are based on real people and many scenes are adapted from real life such as the scene with the drug dealer; the scene where Jerry’s dog saves his life; how Jerry’s racist boss at a big mining company tried to frame him and blacklisted him when Jerry resigned, and the intimidation and harassment of those who oppose big corporations.

While these sections make up a lesser part, they are the ones that reflect the theme built around the main characters whose lives tell the story.

I never intended to write much fantasy and magic but it just happened and I love writing it. It also gave me the perfect solution to how this darkness could be overcome—isn’t it impossible without a bit of magic?

In real life this magic would be the people who listen, learn, educate and make changes to improve the state of the world—the voices of people like David Attenborough and Gretha Thunberg come to mind.

Within the fabric of society this tale is an exposure of how powerful corporate criminals make decisions exclusively on the basis of profit and the politicians who act contrary to the public interest by accepting bribes, often shrouded in secrecy, and offering impunity to the highest bidders (Don’t worry the sentences are not that long in the book! ☺).

Triangles of Black is the first of two books and while it has a real theme this story is a work of fiction and written to entertain, and that is what the reader can take—despite all it is a light read and humor makes this possible. It is also a clean read for ages 8-80 and beyond, while the intended audience was originally 18+.

I would love others to read this book because it is a ‘unique experience’ and has been described by others as unique, fun, very creative, unpredictable and an epic journey of self-discovery in a world full of magic and secrets.

Additionally, my readers want to read the sequel (currently being written) and that includes my 9 year old niece who has read it several times and is nagging me to finish book 2, what a buzz! I love my fans!”
